96 pregnant ladies, nursing moms excused from Ogun NYSC camp. The National Youth Service Corps in Ogun State has excused no fewer than 96 pregnant ladies, nursing moms, and others with sickness from the three -weeks orientation programme within the state.
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) is a program arranged by the Nigerian authorities to contain Nigerian graduates in national construction and the event of the nation. There is not any army conscription in Nigeria, however, since 1973 graduates of universities and later polytechnics have been required to participate within the National Youth Service Corps program for one 12 months. Major General Suleiman Kazaure was appointed director-general of the NYSC on 18 April 2016 and served because the seventeenth DG of the scheme till his redeployment to the Nigerian Army Resource Centre on 26 April 2019. Until his appointment, Ibrahim, the brand new NYSC boss was the Registrar, Nigerian Army University, Biu in Borno State.
The State NYSC Coordinator, Belinda Faniyi, throughout the swearing-in ceremony on the Gateway International Stadium, Sagamu, stated 786 corps members have been sworn in for one 12 months of obligatory service within the state.
She stated the corps members comprised 413 males and 373 females, for 2020 Batch B Stream 1A.
Faniyi defined that the Batch B corps members have been divided into two to look at COVID – 19 security protocols, including that stream 1B would resume tenting subsequent month.
Faniyi stated, “Over 96 pregnant girls, nursing moms, and others with crucial well being situations have been excused from strenuous facets of the programme and consequently given permission.”
The NYSC coordinator urged the corps members to be dedicated to their service with all seriousness and self-discipline in direction of contributing to the unity of Nigeria.
Governor Dapo Abiodun, who was represented by Commissioner for Youth and Sport, Dr. Kehinde Oluwadare, requested the corps members to be accountable, loyal and dedicated to the course with the intention to contribute to the nation’s regeneration.
