Recall that the parents of the students had protested against the hike in the feeding fee from N25,000 to N125,000.
After several deliberations, the government reduced the fee to N50,000, but the parents insisted that only N30,000 was acceptable.
However, Adefisayo in the statement, said, “Lagos State Ministry of Education will commence the implementation of the experimental fee regime as agreed during a meeting of officials of the Ministry of Education, parents, and lawmakers recently. A sum of N35, 000 as agreed will be paid by all model college and upgraded school students for the next two-term.”
Adefisayo also declared that representatives of the parent’s body would be incorporated into the boarding house committee to ensure inclusive supervision.
“Resumption of students in Model Colleges and Upgraded Schools has commenced since 19th September with SS2 students while new JS 1 students and other returning students will follow on the 2nd and 9th of October respectively,” she said.
